Five Dock's future is bright with plans to refresh the streetscape underway

| 19 May 2015

“Our plan is to retain the village feel that we all love about Five Dock while we create a place with community spirit that is appealing for people to shop, work, live and visit, as well as a place that can provide for future economic and commercial growth,” Mayor Tsirekas added.

The transformation of Five Dock will begin with renewing the streetscape which includes; planting trees and shrubs, installing high quality pavements and street furnishings, moving the existing overhead power underground and installing new lighting.

This work will be carried out along Great North Road between Lyons Road and Henry Street.

Concept plans for this upgrade are now being finalised and we invite our community to come along and view them at an information day on at Fred Kelly Place, Five Dock from 10am to 1pm.

Bring the family and enjoy live music, activities for the kids, pop-up art installations, a pop-up library and workshops plus a free sausage sizzle and coffee.

“We look forward to sharing these plans with our community as we embark on this exciting project.” Mayor Tsirekas said.
