| 16 November 2015

“This area has changed so much since the 1960s and to this day, it continues to change and evolve. This project really does capture the history of Rhodes and the sense of community,” he said.

The Rhodes Multimedia project saw 13 community members and three community groups telling their stories of Rhodes to camera.

“The videos include personal recounts and images of Rhodes from the 1960s to today. The videos also encapsulate the current culture of Rhodes through the eyes of younger generations who call the area home, as well as newly arrived migrants and business operators,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

“We also had involvement from the volunteer Fire Station, Dragon Sports Association and Rhodes Multicultural Community Association who all took part.”

Council worked in partnership with local residents and Peta Khan from Maitree House, the project’s creator to deliver the Rhodes Multimedia project.

The videos can be viewed on City of Canada Bay’s .

The videos will also feature in an opening display at The Connection, the Rhodes community precinct which will open in 2016.
