New look pools open for summer

| 05 September 2017

City of Canada Bay Council’s outdoor aquatic facilities are some of the most picturesque in Sydney, featuring heated salt water pools with panoramic harbour views, shaded children’s pools, cafés and kiosks.   After an off-season of maintenance work on both pools, the facilities are in good shape heading into summer.

Drummoyne Swimming centre boasts new lane ropes, new diving block covers, upgraded shade, new glass fencing and more sun lounges. Still to come in 2017 is a suite of new lockers, a beautiful newly returfed grass area and the installation of a lift hoist to allow inclusive access to the 50m pool.

At Cabarita Swimming Centre residents can expect an upgraded pool cover to provide maximum protection, new shower heads for accessible bathrooms, new sensor lighting in the change rooms and newly varnished non-slip decking. Over the coming months heading into summer additional bench seating in the bathrooms and new lockers will cap off the offseason improvements.

To celebrate the opening of the Swimming Centres and to ensure the City of Canada Bay’s youngest residents are ready to safely hit the pools and beaches with confidence this summer, Council is offering 50% off swimming lessons at Cabarita and Drummoyne Swimming Centres for 129 pre-school aged children.

This offer is strictly limited and closes on September 8. For more info and to register your child, contact the Drummoyne and Cabarita Swimming Centre websites on their website.   Drummoyne Swimming Centre operates seven days a week from 5.30am on weekdays and 6am on weekends. It is located along the Bay Run at 1P Henley Marine Drive, Drummoyne. For more information please visit:
