Homebush Bay Bridge - a State Government project

Homebush Bay Bridge was approved by the State Government on 19 March 2013. The bridge, which links Rhodes peninsula to Wentworth Point, carries buses, cyclists, pedestrians and emergency vehicles.

Private vehicles and cars are not be permitted.

The $43 million bridge, was provided by the developer Consortium of Fairmead Pty Ltd in return for additional development density at Wentworth Point. This arrangement involved a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) between the developers and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).

Council contributed foreshore land to accommodate the bridge and road approaches.
