Due to popular demand, our Heritage Grants Program funds have now been exhausted for the 2020–21 financial year. A range of worthwhile conservation projects have been funded and we look forward to the program commencing again, the usual commencement date being the 1 July in each year.
In the meantime, please feel free to contact Council's Heritage Advisor on 9911 6555, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday, if you would like to find out more about the program and if your planned conservation works are eligible for the program.
The City of Canada Bay operates a Local Heritage Grants Program to encourage conservation work. Dollar for dollar grants are available of up to $3,000 to owners of heritage items and up to $2,000 to owners of contributory buildings in conservation areas. For the 2020-2021 financial year there will be a total of $26,000 in funding to be distributed.
Applications can be received at anytime and are only accepted for work that has been completed and paid for. In addition, a minor works application must have been approved for the works
Applicants are encouraged to contact our Heritage Advisor prior to works being commenced to confirm whether projects are appropriate for funding. Proceeding with works prior to discussions with our Heritage Advisor could result in ineligibility. The closing date for applications is Friday, 30 April 2021.
Council's Heritage Advisor is at Council on Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment only. To speak with the Heritage Advisor, contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 9911 6555.
