The Lab is a network of technology clubs for young people with autism who enjoy working with computers.
In The Lab Rhodes, we focus on technical and creative skills, supported by professionals in coding, digital design, gaming, 3D printing and more. Participants can explore gaming, coding, 3D printing, and more — all in a welcoming and supportive environment that encourages social growth alongside hands-on learning.
Designed for mature teenagers, sessions are run at The Learning Space, Rhodes on Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, for 9 weeks during school terms. Parents are welcome to stay in the library, where there are workspaces and free WiFi.
The Lab takes an unstructured, participant-driven approach, so every session is unique. Young people join activities that interest them, rather than being required to do anything. This approach is built on The Lab’s experience with hundreds of young participants, creating a space that’s fun, accepting, and inspiring — a place to hang out, learn, and enjoy technology at your own pace.
Important to know:
$419.40 for a full term (9 weeks).
