Workshop for new dads

Workshop for new dads

Online

Are you a new or expectant dad?

This online course highlights the positive and important role that fathers play, and provides an opportunity for you to prepare yourself with the knowledge and skills needed to cope constructively with the changes brought about by the birth of a child and ongoing parenting. This will allow you to positively impact the emotional, social and cognitive development of your baby, while looking after your own relationships, mental health and sanity.

Having a baby is an opportunity for new beginnings as you build your family life together. The challenge for new parents is that it can also bring emotional changes. This two-session course is developed from evidence-based programs and sources, which have been fully researched for success. It focuses on the role of the father and provides a ‘hands-on’ practical component. Mothers are encouraged to come along to the second session.

This course is coordinated by the Drummoyne Community Centre with support from the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.
