To celebrate Migratory Shorebird Day, we would like to invite you to learn about the plight of our resident migratory shorebird, the Bar-tailed Godwit, at this interesting afternoon tea and talk.
Migratory shorebirds like the Bar-tailed Godwits travel over 12,000km from the Arctic Circle to our shores during the warmer months to feed. As we approach winter, these birds are preparing for their long flight back to the Arctic Circle to breed. At this session, Judy Harrington from Birdlife Australia will tell us more about these amazing creatures – what they look like, what they eat, where they roost and what we can do to protect them.
There will also be fun activities to get involved in, where you can display your migratory bird artwork at the library.
Register to get involved or contact Council's Sustainability team at 9911 6411 for more information.
This is a free event.
