Looking to restore or repair your small furniture pieces? Join us for a workshop where you’ll learn practical techniques to breathe new life into your furniture using a variety of tools and methods.
During this interactive session, you’ll rotate through several demonstration stations, spending around 20 minutes at each focusing on a key aspect of furniture restoration. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this workshop will give you the confidence to tackle your own DIY projects. Plus, each session includes time for Q&A, where you can ask specific questions about your own projects.
What You’ll Learn:
At each station, you’ll discover different ways to fix common furniture issues — from stabilising wobbly legs and repairing broken parts to stripping old paint and varnish. You'll also learn about sanding techniques, types of sanders and fillers, and how to smooth and prepare surfaces for finishing. Finally, we’ll cover how to apply protective finishes to ensure your furniture looks great and lasts longer.
Make It Personal:
To make the workshop more interactive, we encourage you to bring a small piece of furniture you'd like to repair or restore. During the Q&A sessions, we’ll discuss how to approach each piece and demonstrate techniques you can apply directly.
What to Bring:
This workshop is open to all City of Canada Bay residents, all genders welcome. Bookings are essential as spots are limited.
Free.
