Saltmarshes occur in the intertidal zone on the shores of estuaries and lagoons. They provide important food, shelter and nursery grounds for birds, fish and other wildlife, help to maintain water quality by filtering runoff and excess nutrients, and sequester and store carbon which moderates the effects of climate change.
Join Council's Bushcare Team Leader, Kylie Burrows for a webinar on this overlooked but important foreshore vegetation. Kylie's presentation will discuss the saltmarsh habitat along the Parramatta River, the impact of pollution and climate change, and what we can do to protect this essential ecosystem and the species that rely on it.
