Tedeschi is a well-known Crown Prosecutor who worked on many high profile cases including the trial of Ivan Milat. His latest book, , is a fascinating account of one of the most extraordinary criminal trials in legal history – the trial of Eugenia Falleni, a woman living as a man and charged with the murder of her ‘wife’ in 1920. In the context of the hatred and fear that had been whipped up by a voracious press, Eugenia’s trial was less than fair. The full weight of the law and public opinion came crashing down on her, branding her a complete outcast and a serious menace to the moral fabric of society.
