“This important $2 million upgrade of our beautiful foreshore track continues on schedule with fifty percent of the Bay Run re-opened to the public,” he said.

“The project includes the widening of the footpath to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians, to ensure the Bay Run grows even more in popularity.

“Already it is one of Sydney’s most-used foreshore tracks with up to 700 people using the Bay Run every hour each morning.”

The temporary traffic flow changes will remain in effect along Henley Marine Drive during the duration of the upgrades to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists using the Bay Run during the construction phase.

The next section, between the Rowing Club and the bend in Henley Marine Drive, is expected to be finished by the end of October.

The project is on schedule to be completed by February 2014.
