The City of Canada Bay Heritage Society will be formally established in a community meeting at Drummoyne Civic Hall on Friday, 23 November.
This is a great opportunity for residents to get involved as the newly formed City of Canada Bay Heritage Society (CCBHS) gets established and gets to work on exciting new projects.
“We need to promote and preserve the heritage of our community and through this Society, we have an opportunity to preserve the local identity of Canada Bay for future generations,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.
We hope to attract and inspire new members and volunteers as well as encourage the donation of new materials in order to preserve the heritage of our area, and we encourage the community to come along to the meeting on Friday, 23 November at 6.30pm.
The City of Canada Bay Heritage Society has been formed following the Concord Heritage Society and Drummoyne and Districts Historical Society merging together.
In 2009, Drummoyne and Districts Historical Society began working with Concord Heritage Society on the City of Canada Bay museum program and working towards a partnership with both societies. Merging these two societies to form the City of Canada Bay Heritage Society will better represent the whole community.
