Chiswick's past, present and future captured in photos

"Two of a Kind was part of a wider history project, Chiswick Connects;  which aimed at capturing moments of 'now' for future generations as well as providing an arena for people to learn new skills creating a shared sense of pride for Chiswick locals," he said.

To conclude the photography competition, an awards evening was held on Thursday, 15 October for the entrants and the winners.

"First, second and third prizes were awarded in the categories of Primary Student, Secondary Student and Open Amateur," Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

"Anna Dey won the Primary School category for her picture 'Long way up', Secondary Student category was awarded to Mia Chahoud for her picture 'Find old Chiswick Wharf.' Melissa Iannielo was awarded first prize for her picture 'I love you up to the sky' in the category of Open Amateur."

Mayor Angelo Tsirekas announced the winners; judged by artists, Angela Pasqua and Olev muska on the basis of:

        The final stage of the Chiswick Connects project is a movie presentation of local stories, forming the multimedia component of the project. The presentation of the local stories as well as the feature film Paper Planes in Lysaght Park on Friday, 27 November.

        This project was made possible through funding from City of Canada Bay and was supported through a grant by Family and Community Services and Local Government NSW.
