City of Canada Bay to boost evening economy

Business | 17 February 2020

The City of Canada Bay is reaching out to local businesses and residents to share their ideas for improving the area’s night time economy.

“We want to build a better nightlife for our City, so local business, community and culture can continue to thrive after dark,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“With most of us working during the day, the evening is often the only time we can get out and about. Our new framework will help make the City of Canada Bay an even better place to come home to after a long day at work.”

Known as ‘Our City after 5’, the community engagement project will help Council identify popular evening hotspots and experiences through the community’s eyes, to help shape the evening economy and activation framework.

Residents and local business owners from Drummoyne through to Rhodes are invited to visit Collaborate Canada Bay to take the survey by Wednesday, 26 February.

Entrants will go into the running to win a night out worth $200 at the Bakehouse Quarter, North Strathfield, which includes a session at Holey Moley and dinner at Outback Steakhouse for themselves and two friends.

Visit Collaborate Canada Bay for more information about our City After 5 and other community engagement projects in progress.
