City of Canada Bay celebrates reopening of Bayview Park Baths

In November the City of Canada Bay celebrated the reopening of Bayview Park Baths in Concord.

The official opening on Friday, 11 November was followed by a community open day on Sunday, 13 November. A big thank you to everyone who came down to be part of history. The baths had been a popular swimming spot from as early as the 1930s before their closure in 1969. The reopening is a landmark moment for the remediation of the Parramatta River and marks the first reopening of a closed swim site on the river in over 50 years!

The project was proudly funded by the NSW Government's Places to Swim Program. The launch of this site is part of a broader vision led by Parramatta River Catchment and Sydney Water which aims to bring swimming back to the Parramatta River.
