Let it grow

| 15 July 2015

Planet Ark’s National Tree Day will be held on Sunday, 26 July at Queen Elizabeth Park.

Queen Elizabeth Park was chosen as the site for this year’s event as the park contains a significant remnant of the endangered ecological community, Sydney Turpentine Ironbark Forest. Council is committed to the ongoing recovery of this regionally-significant vegetation and the support of the bushcare activities in the park.

“This is such an important day, promoting positive environmental change and beautifying our neighbourhoods.

“I urge the community to come down and show their support. The more helping hands we have the better,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

A BBQ will follow the tree planting.

Sunday, 26 July at 9am-12pm Queen Elizabeth Park, Concord Please wear appropriate clothing (hat, long sleeved shirt and long pants are recommended) enclosed shoes and sunscreen
