New date: Majors Bay Reserve Grand Opening

Community & events | 23 May 2025

Saturday, 14 June 11am–4pm

Now taking place from 11am–4pm on Saturday, 14 June, this event is set to be a fantastic family day out!

Come down to check out the facilities and enjoy a free coffee, muffin, and sausage sizzle — while stocks last! Plus live music and face painting until 1pm.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Head to the senior BMX track for Jump Track Jam from 12–4pm with a DJ, rider demonstrations, competitions, prizes, and more.

The $5.5 million upgrade has transformed the reserve into a first-class sports and recreation precinct, enhancing the existing baseball, cricket, and soccer facilities with a BMX jump park, basketball courts, handball courts, an outdoor fitness station, playground, and more.

“I am proud of the work we’ve done to transform Majors Bay Reserve into a first-class precinct that meets the needs of our growing community,” said Mayor Michael Megna.

“Whether you're riding the BMX track, watching the kids explore the playground, or enjoying a game of basketball, there's something for everyone.”

The precinct has been designed with accessibility in mind, featuring inclusive play equipment, pathways, seating, and a Changing Places amenity building with an adult-sized change table, ceiling hoist, and shower.

Proudly funded by the NSW Government and the City of Canada Bay, the project reflects Council’s commitment to delivering high-quality public spaces for its growing community.
