Robot Ball brings Rhodes to life

Community & events | 05 June 2025

On Friday, 23 May the Rhodes Robot Ball saw The Connection come alive with futuristic fun as over 250 attendees danced, coded and connected at one of the most vibrant family events of the year.

A packed program of activities catered to all ages and abilities, offering everything from EV3 Bowling and Ozobot journeys to chilled-out colouring stations and robot mask-making. Families put their coding skills to the test, danced alongside Alpha Minis and JD Robots, and marvelled at the adorable Dash robot, which made its Robot Ball debut this year.

“The Rhodes Robot Ball is one of those events that perfectly captures the spirit of our community—creative, connected and future-facing,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.

“It’s incredible to see kids not just playing with technology but understanding and interacting with it in such a fun and accessible way.” From robot costume parades to dance-offs and DIY bookmarks, the event was packed with opportunities to learn, create and celebrate.

The Robot Ball continues to grow as a beloved annual celebration that puts technology in the hands of the community, blending learning with entertainment.
