| 14 September 2015

A photo competition capturing moments in the suburb of Chiswick will contribute to a local history project, says City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.

“We are encouraging budding photographers to get out and about in Chiswick and take photos of something iconic in the area,” he said.

“The photos will form a snapshot of Chiswick for our local studies collection and will give us a better understanding of what locals feel is important in their community.”

The photo competition has a theme of “two of a kind” and involves participants taking photos of any subject of their choice with this theme.

“Use your imagination to come up with your photos and you could be in the running to win some great prizes,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

Contestants will be asked to submit one or two of their best photos of Chiswick by Monday, 21 September.  The photos can be from a range of sources: cameras, mobile phones, Ipads. The photos will then be exhibited at Five Dock Library and from which a winner will be announced.

The exhibition will be open until Thursday, 15 October when an awards evening will be held, announcing a winner.

There are three categories including: primary student, secondary student and open amateur with prizes being awarded to first, second and third place winner in each category.
