The following materials can be booked for collection:

  • Clothing, manchester and textiles
  • Fashion accessories, handbags and shoes
  • Small electronic items (e-waste)
  • Mobile phones, printer cartridges and batteries
  • Fluro globes and smoke detectors
  • Soft plastics including medicine blister packs
  • Aluminium coffee pods
  • Oversized cardboard (flattened)
  • Good condition small household bric-a-brac items including toys, sporting goods & musical instruments.

Collections can be booked via the HomeCycle booking system and must have a minimum of 2 bags per pick-up. Please ensure your items fit into a box or bags that can be lifted by one person. There are no limits to the amount of items you can put out for collection.

The Bower

The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre provide Canada Bay residents with a free collection and rehoming service.

If you have unwanted furniture or other items at home that you no longer want, you can call the Bower. The Bower can't accept all donations due to space, functionality, low demand or other reasons, in this case the Bower may refer you to one of the organisations or charities within their rehoming database. These organisations repair, reuse or resell your wanted goods, keeping them out of landfill.

This service is available free of charge to residents of the City of Canada Bay. For more information, please visit the Bower Reuse and Repair Center's website.
