The City of Canada Bay supports the important work achieved by local community groups and organisations by providing funding through a range of community grant programs each year.

Community Grants Program

2019/20 Community Grants Program

The City of Canada Bay’s Community Grants Program provides one-off funding support for local not-for-profit organisations and projects which benefit local residents. Through the Community Grants Program Council aims to support the operation of community groups and non-profit organisations in the City of Canada Bay.

Grants are available under two funding streams:

Community Support Grants – Funding up to $1,000 to support existing operations.

Community Development Grants – Funding up to $5,000 to support the development of additional discrete projects.

Applications for the 2019 Community Grants Program will open on Monday, 8 April 2019 and close on Friday, 10 May 2019.

A link to the online grant application form as well as the grant guidelines will be available on Councils website on the 8 April 2019. Physical copies will also be available at Council's Civic Centre in Drummoyne, Five Dock Library, Concord Library and The Connection in Rhodes.

Council will be holding an information session for applications to give guidance on the application process, explain the Community Grants Program and answer questions on specific applications.

The session will be held on:

  • Wednesday, 10 April 2019 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in the Meeting room at Concord Library.
ClubGRANTS (formerly CDSE)

ClubGRANTS is a funding program established through local clubs to assist with the development of community organisations. 

Community groups in the City of Canada Bay local government area are encouraged to apply for funding under the ClubGRANTS Program. Several local participating/qualifying clubs in the area have funding available in the following categories:

  • Community Welfare and Social Services 
  • Community Development 
  • Community Health Services 
  • Employment Assistance Activities.
