Art Exhibition: Clare Hooper - Welcome to my World

Five Dock Library View in maps

Clare Hooper is a Drummoyne based artist with a dual disability who has made art the central focus of her life. It allows her to be creative, successful, and independent and live an inclusive life.

Clare’s artistic expression is a continuous stream of aiming to understand her relationships and surroundings, in particular animals, people, and places. Her paintings reflect the elements of her ponderings, moods and flows of energy through her choice of images, colours, shapes and brush strokes.

By now, Clare Hooper is a multiple award-winning artist including but not limited to the 2010 City of Canada Bay Citizen of the Year Award for Arts & Culture and the 2011 Inner West Council’s Blooming Arts Mentoring Prize, which is awarded annually to an artist with a disability. The latter has provided Clare with the opportunity to participate in an artist mentoring program at the Sydney College of Arts in Rozelle to further develop her creative talents. Experience and see the results in her art exhibition at Five Dock Library during opening hours.
