The City of Canada Bay has announced Concord Carnival is returning to Greenlees Park on Sunday, 2 April 2023.

This year Greenlees Park will come alive with the sights and sounds of Sydney’s Halcyon Days, an iconic period of time that spanned from the 1920s through to the late 1940s.

“I’m delighted we’re bringing back this much-loved family day out,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“Attracting over 30,000 people annually, this year’s Concord Carnival pays homage to the historical significance of the Halcyon Days. The visual identity born from this time still defines the character of Concord.”

Revellers will be transported back in time with vintage vehicle displays, free horse and carriage rides, vintage sideshows and a spiegeltent full of surprises including acrobatics and juggling.

There will also be amusement rides, food tucks, merchandise stalls, roving entertainment and performances.

“There will be something for everyone. This is an opportunity to step into the past and celebrate the heritage of Concord,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

This year, the City of Canada Bay has expanded Concord Carnival with two new pop-up events at Greenlees Park:

Concord Nights: Friday, 31 March 5–9pm

Concord Nights will be a fun night with music including an exciting battle of the DJs, food trucks and a neon light installation.

Sustainable Saturday: Saturday, 1 April 11am–3pm

Come along to enjoy an electric vehicle expo, second-hand market stalls, native plant giveaways, clothing and toy swaps, enviro theatre performances, workshops and more.
