City of Canada Bay and Boomerang Bags are working together to reduce the reliance on single-use plastic by making reusable shopping bags. Made from donated materials, Boomerang Bags is a means of providing a sustainable alternative to plastic bags.
Are you someone who loves to sew, would like to learn to sew or just love creating things? Join one of our sewing bees at Concord Community Centre to learn new skills, start conversations, engage with your local community and work towards a plastic bag free City!
When:
Saturday, 23 February, anytime between 1-5pm
Saturday, 25 May, anytime between 1-5pm
Saturday, 3 August, anytime between 1-5pm
Saturday, 19 October, anytime between 1-5pm
Where: Concord Community Centre, 1A Gipps Street, Concord
Who: anyone who can sew, wants to learn to sew or can lend a hand cutting, ironing or pinning bags
What to bring: sewing machine, overlocker or fabric (if you have them) and lots of enthusiasm!
