Buzz & Build: Celebrate World Bee Day with Native Bees

Queen Elizabeth Park Playground, Concord View in maps

Fill a bee hotel and discover the buzz on local native bees!

Join us for a hands-on, family-friendly workshop as we enhance the Walk on Wangal Nature Trail with a very special addition – a bee hotel crafted by our talented local Men's Shed! 🛠️🐝

You’ll help fill the hotel with nesting materials to support our beautiful native bees and learn how to create your very own bee-friendly space at home.

🌼 What You’ll Learn:

  • How to build and fill a native bee hotel using safe and effective materials.
  • The incredible diversity of native bees in our area (did you know most don’t live in hives?).
  • What plants and nesting sites attract different bee species to Sydney gardens.
  • How to identify some of our common native bee visitors.
  • The role of bees in local ecology and how you can support them in your neighbourhood.

👣 Walk on Wangal

This workshop is part of the Walk on Wangal Nature Trail project – bringing community members together to celebrate, protect, and enjoy our local biodiversity.

Let’s build something buzz-worthy together!

This project was proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Places to Roam — Regional Trails Program in association with the City of Canada Bay.
