The artists’ group at the Strathfield School for Seniors is a group of amateur artists participating in an art class every Friday, covering painting, calligraphy and paper art.
Visit Concord Library throughout May to enjoy the artworks of the below artists:
Ross Selby is a retired signwriter tradesman who found it an easy transition to painting landscapes; he loves the dramatic effect of bright colours.
Cheryl Beverley has always admired the old Masters and modern art forms, too. Her favourite medium is oil paint, and she also enjoys the versatility of acrylic.
Teresa Ho first learned oil painting at Haberfield’s Ella Centre 25 years ago. She now paints still lifes, portraits of her children and grandchildren, and landscapes in oil. Teresa also volunteers as a JP at Concord Library.
Carol Gittoes started drawing at 12, copying cartoons out of magazines and newspapers. As well as oil painting, she likes anything to do with paper craft, making cards, and doing papertole.
