Exhibition: Yesterday

In October, Five Dock Library will host an exhibition featuring artworks created by local mixed media artist, Kirsten Castorina. The artworks are quirky assemblages of found objects that will take visitors on a journey of remembering and nostalgia. 

About the artist

Kirsten Castorina is an emerging visual artist exploring environmental narratives through sculptural assemblages. 

In this series, titled 'Yesterday', Kirsten explores society’s obsession with constantly upgrading items and the exhaustion that follows. 'Yesterday' is about memory, nostalgia, and the emotional traces that materials carry. Each piece is a small act of transformation, turning what’s been left behind into something renewed and alive again.

Kirsten was recently awarded runner up in the Ryde Council Sustainable Waste 2 Art Prize (SWAP).
