Why not join the Concord Community Garden members at their open day and listen to two fantastic talks by Toni Salter about Caring for Fruit Trees and Producing Veggies on Balcony Gardens. Fun kid’s activities and gardening workshops will be available throughout the day. The open day is open to everyone, so please come along and join the fund, no need to RSVP.
Workshop 1 – Caring for Fruit Trees
10.30am-11.15am
You don’t need a farm to grow your own fruit. See how careful plant selection and grafting techniques allow the home gardener to grow a variety of fruit in their own yard. The walk and talk shows how to grow your own oranges, pears, citrus, figs, stone fruit and bananas. Pruning and fertilising will also be covered.
Workshop 2 – Producing Veggies on Balcony Gardens or Small Spaces
12.00pm-12.45pm
Have you ever wanted to grow your own vegetables but don’t think you have enough space? Learn how to grow vegetables in pots with this workshop. Whether you are living in an apartment or you only have a small courtyard or you simply want to know how to grow plants successfully in pots, then this talk is for you.
