Did you know that Powerful Owls can use mangroves as a habitat to sit and watch for prey? Are you aware that Mangroves are also an important nursery and breeding ground for small fish, including flat tailed mullet and silver biddy. 

Mangroves also protect our river foreshore from strong tides and erosion during storms.

Adults are invited to join this unique Community Bus tour with a mangrove expert guide from Sydney Olympic Park and learn more about this protected habitat right on our doorstep.

Starting from Ron Routley Oval, we will visit local mangroves habitats in Canada Bay, and then travel to Bicentennial Park to compare the different environments, before returning to Ron Routley Oval.

These workshops are designed for City of Canada Bay residents with priority given to Canada Bay foreshore residents.

If you do not reside within the City of Canada Bay but would like to attend an event, please email us at enviroed@canadabay.nsw.gov.au so that we can place you on a waitlist. If there are still places available we will contact you a week prior to the event to let you know that you can register.
