We’re thrilled to invite you to celebrate the completion of the City of Canada Bay's first official nature trail on Saturday, 23 November at Edwards Park in Concord.
The trail is a community triumph, which has been brought to life with help from Concord High School students, Harry's Shed members and enthusiastic local volunteers. Now, birds, insects and other wildlife have a safe space to thrive, while residents can enjoy an urban retreat that connects us to the beauty of our natural surroundings.
During the opening event, visitors will be able to join hands-on educational activities happening from 10am to 12pm. Perfect for all ages, these events are designed to help you learn about the amazing local plants and animals that make our area unique.
Highlights include:
Register to join Koori Kinnections for a guided walk at 11am or 11:30am to learn more about the native plant species. On this guided walk, you will learn how to identify a range of native plant species in the local area and their traditional uses.
Check out our brand-new Woody Meadow, home to a charming bee hotel crafted by Harry’s Shed members.
Join Amelie Ecology for a family-friendly workshop on Australia’s Native Bees and discover the incredible world of these essential pollinators!
Create your own stone art with Koori Kinnections. Learn about how Aboriginal art was traditionally created and how it was used, and take home your own stone art work or add it to the Nature Trail.
Come celebrate with us, savour free refreshments, and enjoy a morning filled with nature, fun and community spirit!
This green project is proudly funded by the NSW Government’s Places to Roam — Regional Trails Program in partnership with the City of Canada Bay.
