Join us for a community day packed with repair workshops, reuse and recycling activities, sustainability demonstrations and family-friendly experiences designed to reduce waste and keep valuable resources in use. Learn repair skills and extend the life of everyday items.

Repair Activities

🪑 Furniture Repair Workshop: 9am–12pm
Bring small furniture items and learn practical repair techniques from experienced repairers. Bookings required.

🧵 Clothing Repair Workshop: 9am–12pm
Learn simple mending and clothing repair skills to help extend the life of your garments.
Booking required.

🚲 Bike Check & Tune: 10am–2pm
Get expert advice and basic tune-ups to help keep your bike safe, smooth and on the road longer. 
Register to secure your spot. Walk-ins welcome, subject to availability.

🧵 Clothing Repair Workshop: 10am–2pm
Bring your sewing machine for a clean, oil and assessment to help keep it running smoothly.
Booking required.

🪡 Clothing and Textile Repair Station: 10am–2:20pm
Bring your clothing and textiles for simple repairs and alterations to help extend their life and reduce waste.
Booking required

🔌Small Electrical Item Repair Station: 10am–2pm
Receive advice and assistance with diagnosing and repairing small household electrical items.
Booking required

⚙️ Sewing Machine Service Station: 10am–2pm

Bring your sewing machine for a clean, oil and assessment to help keep it running smoothly.

Reuse & Recycling Activities

🧸 Toy Swap & Donation Station

Toy Drop-Off: 10am–12pm
Toy Swap: 1–2pm

Give pre-loved toys a new home and help keep valuable resources out of landfill.

How it works:

• Bring up to 3 toys per child for swapping.
• Children can take home up to 3 toys.
• Toys must be clean, complete and in good condition.
• Damaged, broken or unsafe items will not be accepted.
• Any suitable toys remaining at the end of the event may be donated for reuse through community organisations.

No booking required.

📱 Device Donations with The Reconnect Project

Help bridge the digital divide by donating your unwanted devices.

The Reconnect Project accepts donations of mobile phones, tablets and laptops. Donated devices are securely data-erased, repaired and refurbished before being distributed to people experiencing disadvantage.

Accepted (in any condition):

• Mobile phones
• Tablets
• Laptops less than 10 years old

Not accepted:

• Desktop computers
• Monitors
• Printers
• Batteries
• Other electronic items

Donation Terms and Conditions:

• Donations will only be accepted at the Repair and Reuse Day event.
• Accepted items are limited to those listed above and may be declined on the day.
• Once donated, items cannot be returned.
• Donors should remove personal data from devices where possible before donation.

Community & Sustainability Activities

🌱 Community Garden Opening: 9am–1pm
Celebrate the opening of the community garden and learn about local growing initiatives.
No booking required

🌿 Compost Bin and Worm Farm Giveaway: 10am–1pm
Register and collect your free compost bin or worm farm to reduce food waste at home. 
Registrations required.

🥕 The Reuse Garden: Grow More with Less: 10am–12pm
Practical tips and skills for growing food at home.
Register to secure your spot. Walk-ins welcome, subject to availability.
