Upgrade to Lysaght Park, Chiswick

The City of Canada Bay will undertake a $200,000 upgrade to Lysaght Park, including developing a new sportsfield and recreational area.

The works intend to create a sustainable sportsfield surface for optimum safety, durability and play.

Works are set to begin in late November and are expected to be completed in late December (weather permitting). They consist of:

• Establishing a safe work site with implemented traffic management plan along with erosion control measures
• Safety fencing 
• Cultivating soil surface to pulverise dead and decaying vegetation
• Importing specified growing medium, establishing design levels and consolidating it
• Installing specified irrigation system and preparing ground prior to laying turf
• Supplying and laying 8,000 square metres of couch grass turf in maxi rolls.
