Ancestry Library Edition is an important resource to research family history, with more than 1.5 billion names in over 4,000 databases (available in the library only).

The Australian Dictionary of Biography is Australia's pre-eminent dictionary of national biography. In it you will find concise, informative and fascinating descriptions of the lives of significant and representative persons in Australian history.

Find My Past is a family history and genealogy resource, which includes millions of records covering Australasia, Ireland and United Kingdom (available in the library only).

Gale In Context

Gale In Context: Biography allows you to discover the world's most influential people by searching narrative biographies, news, magazines, and multimedia content. 

Gale In Context: World History allows you to uncover information on hundreds of the most significant people, events, and topics in world history from a variety of sources. 

Local Studies Collection

The City of Canada Bay Libraries' Local Studies Collection reflects themes such as the original indigenous inhabitants, settlement, industrial history, the natural and the built environment as well as contemporary issues. There is a range of material for students and researchers of all levels, including environmental reports, newspaper clippings, historical maps and photographs. The collection is a useful starting point to learn about the heritage of the City of Canada Bay.
