The City of Canada Bay's Sustainability Awards are on again and Mayor Angelo Tsirekas is encouraging the community to .
“These awards are presented to businesses, community groups and individuals who have achieved economic, social or environmental progress in the City,” Mayor Tsirekas said.
“Last year we were voted the Most Sustainable Council in NSW as part of the Keep Australia Beautiful Awards so it’s really important that we acknowledge others in our community who are making a difference.
"Over the past nine years the awards have been a great success and it's great to be able to recognise the contributions that our residents, local business and community organisations have made in creating a more sustainable city."
Winners of the 2014 Sustainability Awards included Rhodes Shopping Centre, Club Five Dock RSL, Rhodes Multicultural Community Association, Outback Steakhouse, Vatel Restaurant, Russell Lea Infants, 1st Yaralla Sea Scouts, Environmental Citizen, and Concord Veterinary Hospital.
The awards are open to businesses, community organisations and residents located in the City of Canada Bay. To nominate yourself or someone else, complete an application form and tell us why your nominee should receive the award. Applications close on Wednesday 23 March. Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards night held on Monday 23 May at Rhodes Phoenix Restaurant.
