Celebrate Library Lovers' Day

Community & events | 11 February 2022

We are calling all locals who enjoy their library to share the love this Library Lovers Day on Monday, 14 February!

“Library Lovers Day is a great opportunity to celebrate the valuable role libraries play in our lives as places to learn and connect with our community,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“This year's theme is 'Show the Love', and I encourage locals of all ages to take part in the campaign by sharing why libraries are important to them via our special webpage. This is also a great time to pop in to visit one of our libraries in Five Dock, Concord or Rhodes and take advantage of our wonderful collections and services.”

In the last year, City of Canada Bay libraries loaned out 257,926 items, welcomed 2,471 new members and hosted 334 events and public programs, which were attended by more than 9,000 people.

You can also drop City of Canada Bay libraries a message on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram — don't forget to tag @canbaylibraries and #LibraryLoversDay.”
