Concord Carnival is rolling into town

Community & events | 03 March 2020

Celebrate the good ol’ days on Sunday, 15 March from 10am–4pm.

Greenlees Park in Concord will come alive with the sights and sounds of Sydney’s Halcyon Days, an iconic period of time that spanned from the 1920s through to the late 1940s.

“Attracting over 30,000 people annually, this year’s Concord Carnival pays homage to the historical significance of the Halcyon Days. The visual identity born from this time still defines the character of our area,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“There will be something for everyone with over 100 food, merchandise and information stalls, vintage displays, as well as free amusement rides and entertainment.”

Revelers will be able to jump aboard the Cobb & Co Coach horse and carriage for a free ride around the carnival lead by two beautiful Clydesdales.

The headline act, Chasing the Moon, will bring alive exuberant and romantic sounds of the great jazz days gone by while three part harmony group, the Radioettes, will sing beautiful renditions of all time classics.

Discover magic inside the Spiegel tent with lively entertainment from Charleston dancers and magician Julian Bull throughout the day.

Experience fantastic vintage vehicle displays, including a war tank from Royal NSW Lancers, vintage truck from the Museum of Fire, and a vintage bus from Sydney Bus Museum.

“This is an opportunity to step into the past and celebrate the heritage of Concord,” Mayor Tsirekas said. “Bring down your friends and family to enjoy a great day out with good food, great music, and wonderful performances.”

Concord Carnival is on Sunday, 15 March from 10am–4pm at Greenlees Park, Concord.
