Concord Carnival success

| 14 October 2015

Perfect weather proved a winner for Concord Carnival this year, with around 35,000 people enjoying a day out, says Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.

“This is such as great community event for our city and and it was great to see so many families enjoying the ‘The Farm Comes to Town’ at Concord Carnival.

“We had dog demonstrations, sheep dog trials, sheep shearing demonstrations and kids’ cooking classes and all of these activities drew huge crowds” he said.

Once again this year, Concord Carnival showcased local performers in the inner west and there was great entertainment from local dance schools on the main stage.  A second stage, the Lolo Gypsy Caravan was a big drawcard with world music from Lolo Lovina, The Swinging Gypsies and the Sydney Swing Katz.  One of the most popular attractions was Get Kids Cooking classes where children learnt healthy recipes.
