Speaking at the launch of the garden, Mayor Tsirekas said, “It was wonderful to have so many people from our local community coming together to develop a project that has so many benefits for everyone.”
“From encouraging people to get outdoors to lead an active and connected lifestyle, to the environmental benefits, this project is a great success for our community.”
Mayor Tsirekas said the Concord Community Garden Committee should be applauded for their commitment to developing the design and managing the construction of the garden, while local schools were instrumental in building a centrepiece seat and artworks for the area.
Concord Community Garden it at the Concord Community Centre and sits on the traditional custodian land of the Wangal clan, one of the 29 tribes of the Eora nation.
