Conservatory open for community use

| 12 July 2017

The Cabarita Park Conservatory takes pride of place in Cabarita Park and is filled with light from floor to ceiling and sliding glazed walls take advantage of the beautiful setting.

The venue also includes toilets, kitchenette, a hard stand area for caterers, tables and chairs. There are covered verandas and a small outdoor pavilion.

The venue was delivered through the $1.4 million Community Enhancement Plan fund for Breakfast Point, Concord, Mortlake and Cabarita.

It is one of many projects to be realised following extensive community consultation. The Conservatory will be used for both Council-run events and for use by the community.

“Whether you run a crochet club, a performance group, service club, or any other community-based venture, this cultural facility may be the ideal venue for your regular meetings,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Helen McCaffrey said.

“I encourage anyone who can contribute to bringing this space alive through arts and cultural events, to take advantage of this great opportunity.”

The Conservatory is available for use from Monday to Wednesday from 7am-10.30pm and Sunday evenings until 10.30pm.

Council may also offer a total, or partial, fee waiver for the space for projects that support community engagement. A small cost for cleaning may be charged.

Documentation to guide your Expressions of Interest can be found on  with paper copies available at Concord and Five Dock Libraries, Drummoyne Civic Centre and The Connection, Rhodes. Submissions open on Monday, 24 July and close at 5pm on Friday, 11 August 2017.
