Council | 11 June 2025

The City of Canada Bay is excited to announce that construction has commenced on the upgrade of Central Park Playground in Concord.

The revitalised playground will feature an adventure and nature-based theme, with inclusive play elements designed to support recreation for children of all ages and abilities.

“This project is part of our commitment to providing high-quality, accessible play environments for our growing community,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.

“We know how important local parks and playgrounds are for families — they offer spaces for children to explore, play, and grow close to home.”

Key features of the new playground will include:

  • A climbing net structure, slide, swing set, springer and multi-use play structure
  • Sensory play elements
  • An accessible loop path connecting all play areas
  • New picnic tables, shelters and seating
  • Improved footpath connections to Wellbank Street

“This is just one of several upgrades we’re delivering to enhance neighbourhood parks across the area,” Mayor Megna said.

“By investing in places like Central Park, we’re helping to create vibrant, family-friendly spaces that encourage people to enjoy the outdoors together.”

Works are scheduled to be completed by July 2025, weather permitting. To find out more about the project, visit bit.ly/centralparkupgrade.
