The City of Canada Bay has released its Draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan 2026–2027 for public exhibition, offering a blueprint for how Council plans to turn community aspirations into action over the next financial year and beyond.
The Operational Plan details the projects, programs, services and budget allocations proposed for 2026–2027, while the broader Delivery Program 2025–2029 outlines Council’s strategic commitments across the current Council term. The draft plan represents the second year of implementation under Council’s Delivery Program and sets out how Council will continue delivering on the community vision outlined in Our Future 2036.
City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said the draft plan responds to the priorities identified by our community and reflects Council’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality services and infrastructure, while planning responsibly for the future.
“I’m proud of the work that has been done so far, with the establishment of Concord Oval and Rhodes Recreation Centres in recent years, but I’m also really looking forward to the progress that’s to come and building on these strong foundations,” he said.
“This plan is about creating a connected, inclusive and sustainable City through practical investment in the infrastructure, services and programs our residents rely on every day.”
The draft plan includes a significant investment in local infrastructure, open space improvements, community facilities, transport initiatives and environmental sustainability programs designed to support a growing and diverse community.
Key priorities identified in the draft plan include:
- Delivery of approximately $43 million in capital works projects across the City
- Continued upgrades to parks, sporting facilities and public spaces, including works at Timbrell Park, Five Dock Park and Majors Bay Road
- $15 million investment in roads, footpaths, accessibility improvements and active transport infrastructure
- Support for community wellbeing through festivals/events, youth programs, libraries and cultural initiatives
- Sustainability, drainage and flood resilience projects to strengthen long-term environmental outcomes.
“From community events and park upgrades to safer, well-maintained roads, footpaths and foreshore links, this plan sets the direction for a better quality of life for our residents today and well into the future,” said Mayor Megna.
