| 10 March 2014

“This upgrade of our youth area includes the latest technology and ensures our local young people have access to the latest technology,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

The new-look youth space features new furniture, trendy light boxes and a Samsung SUR40 touch table.

“We are one of the first Australian Public Libraries to feature the touch top table,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

The official launch of the revamped space is set to coincide with the Library’s 10th birthday on Wednesday, 19 March at 3.30pm.

Council’s Youth Librarian Tara Klein has invited all local youth to come along to the launch of the new space.

“Come and enjoy this great space. Get comfortable, hang out with friends, study, eat, browse the web or the library’s resources, and just have fun” she said.

“As this is a space for youth, we’re inviting them to be a part of it and enjoy some sushi, birthday cake and try out the space.”
