Gelato competitions at Ferragosto

| 14 August 2017

Each child will be given the opportunity to turn the sweet delectable Italian ice-cream into their very own work of art, with encouragement from the supportive audience. The fun starts at 1.30pm.

Adult event-goers haven’t been left out of the gelato fun, with Cremeria De Luca offering a blind tasting competition. This one is for those with discernible tastebuds, who can distinguish different flavours. With the popular gelato maker serving up unique and interesting combinations, do you think you can win this competition? Head to the Ferra Comunita stage to be chosen for the competition, which will start at 2.20pm.

City of Canada Bay Mayor, Helen McCaffrey said the competitions at this year’s Ferragosto focused on skill, rather than binge eating. “This is less wasteful way to celebrate the wonderful flavours of Italy with two Five Dock businesses,” she said. “I look forward to watching the sugary fun unfold.”

Those wishing to participate in the competitions for a chance to win gelato vouchers should make sure they are near the stage for their chosen event, with the MC picking out contestants from the audience.
