Improving pedestrian safety

| 13 February 2013

The safety of pedestrians entering Concord Hospital will be significantly improved, says Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.

A new, raised pedestrian crossing is currently being constructed directly at the main entrance, sections of footpath are being widened and parking signage is being updated as part of the project.

“The main entrance to Concord Hospital is a busy place and it’s important that it is as accessible as possible for the many people that come and go,” Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

This $164,000 project is expected to be completed by the end of February.

“We are committed to providing safety improvements for our community and this project will assist in peace-of-mind for the patients, visitors and staff to the Hospital,” Mayor Tsirekas added.
