“We welcome IPART’s finding that a joint merger of Auburn City, Burwood and City of Canada Bay Councils is ‘fit’ for the future,” said the Mayors in a joint statement.
“We believe that this proposal is in the best interest of our residents and will provide a great opportunity to maximise the potential of the regions surrounding Sydney Olympic Park.
“We look forward to working with the NSW Government over the coming months as we transition into the new entity and bring in the future of Local Government in Sydney.”
