“I would like to thank Cr Tony Fasanella for his commitment over the past 12 months to the role of Deputy Mayor and look forward to working with Cr McCaffrey,” he said.
Cr McCaffrey was elected to City of Canada Bay Council in 2004 and previously served as a councillor on Concord Council before its amalgamation with Drummoyne to become the City of Canada Bay.
Cr McCaffrey and her family have lived in the Concord area for over 30 years, witnessing first-hand the many changes in the area. As a result, Helen has a strong commitment to her community and has worked hard to be a community advocate for local residents.
“I am very honoured to have been elected as Deputy Mayor on what is a very cohesive and committed Council. We all work extremely well together in making decisions in the best interests of our community,” she said.
Cr McCaffrey has been involved in a range of community organisations in the Concord area ranging from school and kindergarten committees to scout groups and netball clubs.
She is currently a member and past of Concord Rotary Club, has served as women’s president and captain at Concord Golf Club and until a few years ago, was also a board member of Concord Food Services. Cr McCaffrey has a strong commitment to achieving good outcomes for all who live and work in this developing area of Rhodes.
