Rhodes community precinct designs on show

| 03 October 2013

When completed in July 2016 the Rhodes Community Precinct will be a focal point for residents with indoor and outdoor spaces, cafes, restaurants and meeting areas.

Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said the City of Canada Bay was committed to delivering a modern, multipurpose community precinct in Rhodes and encouraged residents to have a say on its design.

"Residents have already told us they see the community precinct as an opportunity to combine some of the key things they like, such as a waterside experience, places for people to meet and socialise, and cafes and restaurants," he said.

"They've also told us they would like a range of indoor and outdoor activities to be offered, playgrounds for the children and spaces for hire.

"With this in mind we recently completed an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the design of the community building and submissions were received from some of the country's leading architectural firms.

"We're now putting four of these concept plans on public display for feedback from the Rhodes community."

The exhibition process will be open until 27 October and the four concepts will be displayed at:
