There’s a lot to look forward to in 2026-27 as the City of Canada Bay continues to invest in the services, infrastructure and places that matter most to our community.

Our $205 million Operational Plan and Capital Works Budget sets out an ambitious program for the year ahead, guided by a clear focus on delivering projects that provide real, lasting benefits for the community.

This year, we will continue improving some of our area’s much-loved open spaces, ensuring they remain welcoming and accessible for people of all ages. Soon, we’ll complete a major upgrade to Five Dock Park, including a new amenities building, multi-use court, additional parking, traffic calming measures on Barnstaple Road and Ingham Avenue, upgraded pathways, landscaping and more.

In Concord, St Lukes Oval will also receive a significant amenities upgrade, with plans for a covered spectator area, new storeroom, home and away change rooms, new bathrooms and other improvements to support local sport and recreation. At Queen Elizabeth Park, Council will deliver a new amenities building with home and away change rooms, an accessible bathroom, canteen, event space, barbecue area and more.

Maintaining and improving our local roads and footpaths remains one of Council’s key priorities. In 2026-27, we’re investing more than $13.9 million in our roads and traffic program, including road resurfacing, pothole repairs, footpath improvements and accessibility upgrades to help residents move safely and easily around our area.

Council will also continue strengthening the essential services our community relies on every day. Following last year’s major overhaul of our bulk household collection service, we are now planning for the introduction of a Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) waste service to further improve how we manage waste across the City.

Beyond major projects and core services, we’re investing in programs that support local businesses, revitalise our town centres, grow our urban canopy and assist the many community groups that help make Canada Bay such a vibrant place to live.

As we plan for the future, I encourage you to visit our community engagement platform at collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au. Collaborate is your one-stop hub for learning about Council projects, having your say on local issues and helping shape decisions that affect our community.

The platform also supports multiple languages, making it easier for everyone to stay informed and get involved. Council is committed to improving our services each year and making the City of Canada Bay an even better place to live, work and visit.
