Bushcare is a volunteer program that enables community members to participate in the restoration, enhancement and maintenance of natural areas within the City of Canada Bay.
Locals embarked on a Bushcare journey in late 2003 to rehabilitate a neglected and overgrown area of foreshore at Figtree Bay Reserve. Coastal sandstone vegetation is being established on the site to provide a welcoming natural habitat for native birds and animals to use.
Join Council's Bushcare volunteers and staff on a bushwalk through the Yaralla Bushcare site. Topics that will be covered on the tour include:
Habitat management and fauna monitoring
Basic native plant identification
Weed management
Bush regeneration techniques
Bushcare and the Big Picture
